My name is Hector A Silva. I have been a participant in F.I.R.S.T. since it started here at the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC), almost 2 years ago. The reason I started to attend this program, was because it offered to teach me a better way of living, and a chance to work in depth on myself.
After finishing the very first cohort here, I started to see the impact that the program had on me personally, and in the lives of the other participants around me. Since completing the 1-year program, I have facilitated 2 other cohorts, and am ready to facilitate a 3rd cohort very soon. Giving back has been extremely rewarding for me.
FIRST is the kind of program that challenges individuals to start thinking about the root of their addiction, and sheds light on the path towards recovery. FIRST helps individuals like me, who have been battling with addiction, so that we can regain our freedom. As well as to begin living a successful life.
